William Jewell College freshman Timo Kiesslich has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men’s tennis, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Team Results: W, 8-1 at Concordia | L, 7-2 at No. 21 Nebraska Kearney | W, 8-1 at Nebraska Wesleyan
 
  • Went 3-0 in both singles and doubles competition
  • Played in the No. 3 singles spot against Concordia’s Lucas Zoller and Nebraska Kearney’s Pepe Balado, respectively, winning 6-3, 6-3 and 6-7, 6-2, 10-8
  • Played at No. 2 singles to defeat Nebraska Wesleyan’s Gabe Sellmer 6-1, 6-0
  • Won all three doubles matches at No. 2 with partner Bjorn Myers
    • Took 8-3 win against Thomas Greef and Zoller
    • Won 8-4 versus Justin Nguyen and Aaron Reekie of Nebraska Kearney
    • Defeated Nebraska Wesleyan’s Adam Olson and Hale Breit, 8-5
  • Earns his first career Player of the Week award
  • First ever Cardinal Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
