The University of Southern Indiana’s Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Mannix, a senior runner for the Eagles, captured the 5,000-meter title at the Indiana Relays hosted by Indiana University over the weekend.
He finished the event in a time of 14:45.19 to earn a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark. Mannix covered the final 1,000 meters in a time of 2:50 and topped the second-place finisher, Brandon Karcher of Southeast Missouri, by over 12 seconds.
