 Lewis University freshman sprinter Allison Henizer and senior jumper Phoenix Smallwood have been named the final Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week of the 2016-17 season, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday.    

WOMEN’S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Team Competition:  Cardinal Classic
 
  • Won the long jump on Friday with a leap 5.98 meters (19’-7.5”), which ranks No. 8 in NCAA DII and No. 1 in the GLVC. 
  • Came back in the triple jump and hit a lifetime personal best and NCAA Provisional with a second-place leap of 11.75 meters (38-6.75) to move to 33rd in the NCAA and third in the GLVC.
