University of Indianapolis senior Arklon Huertas del Pino has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men’s tennis, it was announced by the league office Tuesday.

Team Results: L, 5-4 at No. 8 Lynn | W, 5-4 at No. 40 Florida Southern | L, 7-2 at No. 7 Barry
- Won all three singles matches at No. 1, defeating two ranked opponents
- Started with a 6-1, 6-2 win over South Region’s fourth-ranked player, Mehdi Laalej of Lynn
- Followed with another straight-set victory over Florida Southern’s Fabian Lundberg, 6-4, 6-1
- Capped the spring break trip with a high profile defeat of the nation’s second-ranked player in Barry’s senior Ahmed Triki with a three-set victory: 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8)
- Moved to 9-0 in dual matches this year and handed Triki just the sixth loss of his career
- Went 1-2 in No. 1 doubles with partner Andy Morlet, beating Laurent Mailloux and Miguel Alvarez-Hevia 8-3 to help No. 29 UIndy beat No. 40 Florida Southern
- Came close to a win against Barry’s Triki and Pierre Montrieul, taking an 8-6 defeat against the second-ranked South Region duo
- Earns fourth career Player of the Week award (3/7/17, 3/29/16, 3/22/16)
