University of Southern Indiana junior distance runner Bastian Grau and Saint Joseph’s College junior jumper Phil Thompson have been named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the 2017 season, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday.

• Won Section 4 of the 5,000 meters by nine seconds, posting a personal best time of 13:57.56
• Time marks the fastest in the GLVC this year and third nationally among DII runners
• First career GLVC Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week honor
