Saint Joseph’s College senior first baseman Riley Benner and University of Missouri-St. Louis senior pitcher Kevin Smith have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in baseball, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.

• Hit .500 (11-for-22) with four home runs, three doubles, 13 RBI, seven runs scored, and a stolen base
• Registered 26 total bases and a 1.182 slugging percentage.
• Recorded at least multi-base hit in all five games
• Started the week with a walk-off home run in 3-2 win against Purdue-Northwest
• Opened Lewis series with 1-for-4 effort with a double, and followed with 2-for-3 performance with a double in the nightcap
• Finished Saturday’s split a combined 7-for-10 with three homers, five runs scored and 11 RBI
• Earns first career Player of the Week award
