Lewis University senior distance specialist Amanda Farrough and Missouri S&T sophomore vaulter Amanda Wetzel have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Wednesday. 

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Amanda Wetzel, Missouri S&T
So., Pole Vault, Keller, Texas
Team Competition:  Darrel Gourley Open (No Team Scoring)
 

• Won the pole vault by more than a foot, and did so in record-breaking fashion
• Broke the school record with an NCAA Division II automatic qualifying mark of 4.01 meters (13’1.75”) on her first attempt
• Then broke that mark by clearing her first attempt at 4.11 meters (13’5.75”), which ranks her fourth nationally
• First career GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
• Last Missouri S&T Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Camille Baker (3/31/16)
