Truman State University junior distance runner Michaela Hylen and Lewis University senior jumper Phoenix Smallwood have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week, it was announced by the Conference office Thursday. 

WOMEN’S OUTDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Sr., Jumps, Princeton, Illinois
Team Competition:  Cougar Invitational (No Team Scoring)
 

• Won the long jump with a leap of 6.05 meters (19’-10.25”), which is just one centimeter shy of her own school record
• Mark ranks first in the GLVC and 12^th nationally
• Returned to win the triple jump with a lifetime best jump of 12.20 meters (40’0.5”), ranking her 20^th in Division II and second in the GLVC
• First career GLVC Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
• Last Lewis Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week: Amber Cook (4/19/16)
