The University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Naomi Fulton (Hartland, Wis.) is the Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Week.

Fulton, a senior distance runner for the Rangers, paced her team at the University of Wisconsin Badger Open on Saturday. She won the 800-meter run at the event with a time of 2:13.45.

The effort was a NCAA Division II automatic qualifying time and was the second time in as many weeks Fulton met an automatic standard. Last week she earned an automatic qualifying time in the one-mile run.

The 800-meter time was a personal-best mark and the second-best time in school history. Fulton bettered her previous best of 2:15.14 set earlier in the season.

UW-Parkside will next compete at the GLVC Indoor Championships on Saturday.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Lewis’ Samantha Linck and SIU Edwardsville’s Christine Butler.
