Saint Joseph’s College’s Kyle Lawson (Indianapolis, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Lawson, a senior for the Pumas, broke the Saint Joseph’s school record in the 35-pound weight toss at the Dick Pond Open over the weekend.

He finished first in the event hosted by Lewis University with a mark of 18.52 meters. The throw was also good for ninth on the NCAA Division II national indoor performance list.

Lawson also competed in the shot put at the Dick Pond Open and finished in sixth place with a throw of 13.03 meters.

Saint Joseph’s will next compete in the GLVC Championships in Crawfordsville, Indiana on Mar. 1.
