Southern Illinois University Edwardsville’s Kaitlin Colosimo (Orland Park, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Colosimo, a junior pitcher for the Cougars, gave up just five hits in regional wins over Northwood and Grand Valley State last week.

She went the distance, struck out eight and allowed just two hits in SIUE’s 4-0 win over Northwood on Friday.

Colosimo returned on Saturday to pick up a 2-1 victory in eight innings against Grand Valley State. She struck out four and allowed just three hits in the win.

On the year, Colosimo is 9-1 with a 0.77 earned run average. She has struck out 56 in 63.2 innings of work.

SIUE is 15-3 on the season and has won nine of its last ten games. The Cougars will next face Shippensburg and Minnesota-Duluth on Wednesday.

Other top performers in GLVC last week included Lewis’ Kelly Dianis and Missouri-St. Louis’ Allyson DeFossett.
