Missouri S&T’s Jared Anders (Quincy, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Anders, a junior pole vaulter for the Miners, posted a NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark in the pole vault at the Washington Mini over the weekend.
He matched his career-best with a vault of 16-2 ¾, the same height he cleared a week ago to earn All-America honors at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships.
The effort also earned Anders a first-place finish at the Washington Mini hosted by Washington University.
S&T, in addition, took first-place in the team standings at the event. The Miners finished with a team score of 201 in the nine-team invitational.
S&T will next be in action at the Alabama Relays on March 28-29.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included UIndy’s Seth Galloway.
