Missouri S&T’s Kandi Wieberg (St. Elizabeth, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week.
Wieberg,a senior second baseman for the Miners, paced S&T to a 6-2 overall record last week and a 4-0 mark in the GLVC. She hit .464 in the eight games and posted seven runs, four RBIs, three home runs and a double.
In the four GLVC road contests, Wieberg was 7-for-14 (.500) with three home runs, four RBIs and five runs scored.
She helped the Miners pick up a 12-4 and 4-1 victory over Northern Kentucky on Sunday by going 5-for-7 in the doubleheader with three runs and two RBIs.
Wieberg is hitting .384 on the season with 31 runs, 15 RBIs, 10 home runs and six doubles this season.
S&T (18-11) is alone in second-place in the GLVC with a 9-1 record. The Miners will next host first-place Lewis on Saturday.
