Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Josh Schultze (Evansville, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Schultze, a freshman pitcher for the Panthers, helped Kentucky Wesleyan to its lone win at Northern Kentucky over the weekend. He tossed a one-hit shutout to guide the Panthers to a 4-0 victory.
Schultze went the distance pitching seven innings and striking out four in the win. He also surrendered just two walks in the outing.
He is now 2-1 on the year with a 3.23 earned run average. He has 23 strikeouts in 30.2 innings pitched this season.
Kentucky Wesleyan (7-22, 2-10) snapped an 11-game losing streak behind the strong outing. The Panthers will host Southern Indiana in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday.
