The University of Southern Indiana’s Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

 

Mannix, a senior runner for the Eagles, just missed the NCAA Division II provisional time in the 5,000-meter run at the Washington (Mo.) Invitational on Friday.

 

He placed second in the event with a time of 14:45.29. The current provisional time is 14:45.00.

 

Mannix finished just behind UW-Platteville’s Tyler Sigl who finished in a time of 14:26.97.

 

Southern Indiana placed 11th as a team with a final score of 21 in the 14-team event.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Steven Busch, Lewis’ Randy Hinton and Saint Joseph’s Tadd Hettinger.
