The University of Indianapolis’ Willie Little (Chicago, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Little, a senior thrower for the Greyhounds, secured a NCAA Division II provisional mark in the men’s hammer throw at the Mike Poehlein Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana on Saturday.
His throw of 53.26 meters was good for fourth place in the event. Little also competed in the discus throw where he finished 23rd with a mark of 32.83 meters.
His efforts helped UIndy finish in fifth place in the 18-team field. UIndy will next compete at the Indiana Intercollegiate Championships this weekend in Indianapolis.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Lewis’ Dan Probst.
