Quincy University’s Nathan Warner (Gold Coast, Australia) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.
Warner, a senior centerfielder for the Norse, shined in the Hawks’ six wins last week. He hit .538, drove in eight runs, scored six times, swiped three bases and had four doubles.
In Quincy’s doubleheader sweep of ninth-ranked Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday, Warner was 4-for-9 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.
He returned in the Hawks’ four-game sweep of UW-Parkside over the weekend to go 10-for-15 with six RBIs, four runs scored, and three doubles. In Quincy’s 14-3 win on Saturday, Warner was 5-for-5 with four RBIS, three runs and two doubles.
On the year, Warner is hitting .331 with 14 RBIs, 24 runs, nine doubles and two home runs.
Quincy is now 17-18 overall and 9-11 in the GLVC. The Hawks have won seven straight games and will meet Truman State on Tuesday.
