Laura EideIndianapolis, Ind. – The University of Wisconsin-Parkside’s Laura Eide (New Berlin, Wis./Milwaukee Heritage Christian) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The junior forward tallied three goals and an assist in leading the Rangers to a pair of conference victories.
 
Eide posted two first-half goals in UW-Parkside’s 4-0 win at Saint Joseph’s College on Sept. 8. She scored the unassisted game-winner at the 14:58 mark and added an insurance goal in the 27th minute on an assist from teammate Brittany Kaim.
 
In the Rangers’ 2-1 win over 23rd-ranked University of Indianapolis on Sept. 10, Eide scored the game-winning goal in the fourth minute of overtime to allow her team to remain unbeaten in conference play. She also assisted on the game-tying goal by Meredith Novak in the 55th minute of the contest.
 
On the week, Eide played a part in four of the Rangers’ six goals and notched her 16th point of the season. She is leading the Rangers with seven goals on the year and has added two assists. Eide leads the GLVC in both points and goals on the young season.
 
UW-Parkside improved to 5-1-0 overall with the two wins last week and is tied atop the conference standings at 4-0-0. The Rangers host SIU Edwardsville and fellow conference co-leader, Quincy University, this weekend.
