Missouri S&T’s Thomas McCormick (Kingwood, Tex.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.

  

McCormick, a junior rightfielder for the Miners, helped his club go 4-2 last week in GLVC action. In the six contests, he went 12-for-21 (.571) with 14 RBIs, seven runs, three home runs, two doubles and a triple.

 

S&T swept Missouri-St. Louis on Tuesday as McCormick went 4-for-8 in the two games with four RBIs and two doubles.

 

He returned in the opening game of a four-game weekend set at Drury to go 4-for-4 with two home runs and five RBIs.

 

On the year, McCormick is hitting .311 with a team-best 33 RBIs and 19 runs, five doubles, four home runs and three triples.

 

S&T improved to 16-19 overall and 10-12 in the GLVC with the wins. The Miners will host Missouri Southern on Wednesday.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Patrick Brady, Drury’s Jason Hall, Missouri-St. Louis’ Scott Lavelock, Quincy’s Joe Palumbo, Rockhurst’s Zach Troilo, Saint Joseph’s Thomas Zurliene and UIndy’s Casey Potter.
