Drury University’s Sadie Ball (Wichita, Kan.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Softball Player of the Week.

  

Ball, a junior catcher for the Panthers, exploded with three home runs and nine RBIs for her club over the weekend helping Drury to a 2-2 mark. She finished the four games 8-for-14 (.571) at the plate with five runs and two walks.

 

She went 2-for-7 with two runs and an RBI against Northern Kentucky on Saturday and then returned to post a 6-for-7, eight RBI, three home run effort against Bellarmine on Sunday.

 

In the first game on Sunday, Ball was 3-for-4 with two home runs, two runs and five RBIs.

 

On the year, she is hitting .397 with nine home runs, 44 RBIs and 42 runs scored.

 

Drury is 15-32 overall and 5-15 in its first year as a softball program. The Panthers will next host Rockhurst on Wednesday.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Lewis’ Mallory Paine, Missouri-St. Louis’ Megan Riggs, Missouri S&T’s Emily Tucker, SIU Edwardsville’s Courtney Mall, Rockhurst’s Holly Hilton, UIndy’s Jessica Breeden and UW-Parkside’s Amy Horn.
