Saint Joseph’s College’s Matt Reimer (Downers Grove, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Player of the Week.

  

Reimer, a senior shortstop for tenth-ranked Saint Joseph’s, hit .632 for the Pumas in six games last week. He guided Saint Joseph’s to a 3-3 record by going 12-for-19 at the plate with eight runs, eight RBIs, three doubles, two home runs and a slugging percentage of 1.105.

 

He had three three-hit games on the week and became the Pumas’ all-time career hits leader (220).

 

In Sunday’s first game at SIU Edwardsville, Reimer delivered a game-winning double and finished the game 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs.

 

He was also perfect at the plate (3-for-3) in the Pumas’ tough 6-5 loss at Tiffin on Tuesday. In the doubleheader against Tiffin, Reimer finished 6-for-8 with five runs and three RBIs.

 

The shortstop is hitting .373 on the year with 42 RBIs, 55 runs scored, 15 doubles, seven triples and three home runs.

 

The Pumas (40-11) are 23-5 in GLVC play and have secured a berth in the GLVC Tournament. Saint Joseph’s will close the season with a four-game series against Northern Kentucky next weekend.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Shane Noble, Drury’s R.J. Knese, Missouri S&T’s Yaimel Javier-Cury, Missouri-St. Louis’ Steve Porter, SIU Edwardsville’s Josh Street, Southern Indiana’s Josh Huebner and UIndy’s Ben Sondgeroth.
