Becky FlemingIndianapolis, Ind. – Quincy University’s Becky Fleming (Florissant, Mo./Trinity) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. The freshman forward helped pace the Lady Hawks in conference wins against visiting Drury University and Rockhurst University over the weekend.
In Quincy’s 2-1 double overtime victory against Drury on Sept. 22, Fleming posted both of her team’s goals to help the Lady Hawks erase a 1-0 deficit. She scored her first goal of the contest just 36 seconds into the second half on an assist from teammate Jenna Boyko. Fleming netted the game-winner at the 1:05 mark of the second overtime period.

Fleming also helped set the pace in Quincy’s 1-0 win over Rockhurst on Sept. 24. She took two shots in the match including one on goal to help provide the Lady Hawks’ offensive pressure.

The game-winner against Drury was Fleming’s second of the year with the other coming in a 2-1 victory over Bellarmine on Sept.10. That game-winner was also scored in double overtime.

She now has 10 goals on the season to lead her team and the GLVC. Fleming has four assists on the year and leads all conference players with 24 points.

Quincy extended its school-record winning streak to 11 with the victories. The Lady Hawks, ranked ninth in last week’s NSCAA/adidas NCAA Division II national rankings, is 11-0-0 on the year and 8-0-0 in the GLVC.
