Danielle Mount Award Baden Volleyball Player of the Week Week Of 9/1/2008 Sport Women's Volleyball School Lewis Year Position Hometown High School Lewis University’s Danielle Mount is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The sophomore outside hitter guided the Flyers to four victories at the Flyer Festival over the weekend and proved to be a force at the net. Mount averaged 1.50 blocks per set, 1.64 kills per set and finished the weekend with a .314 hitting percentage. She dominated the net in the Flyers’ 3-1 win over Midwest Region-foe Michigan Tech on Friday, finishing with four solo blocks and eight block assists. She was also strong in each of the Flyers’ remaining three wins over the weekend. Mount tallied six kills and two blocks against Nova Southeastern, five kills and four blocks in a 3-0 win against Winona State and ten kills and three blocks in a 3-1 win over Western New Mexico State. Mount is averaging 1.43 blocks and 1.52 kills per game this season, while hitting at a .284 clip. Lewis, ranked 25th in the latest AVCA Top 25 Poll, is now 5-3 on the year and will travel to UW-Parkside to open its GLVC schedule on Tuesday. Other top performers in the GLVC last week included: Missouri-St. Louis’ Elizabeth Cook, Rockhurst’s Katy Hernandez, Southern Indiana’s Jaclyn Johnson and UIndy’s Lyndsay Callahan.
