The University of Missouri-St. Louis’ Lisa Brinker is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior setter guided the Tritons to a pair of conference road victories last week, helping UMSL to its first 2-0 start in league play since joining the GLVC in 1996.
In the Tritons’ 3-0 win at Missouri S&T on Tuesday, Brinker posted 33 assists, five digs and a service ace.
She returned in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Southern Indiana to post a season-high 58 assists, 13 digs and two block assists. Her 58 assists is the four-set season-high in the GLVC this season.
In the two matches, Brinker averaged 13.00 assists per set, helping the Tritons to a .252 hitting percentage. She also averaged 2.57 digs per set.
On the year, Brinker is averaging 10.86 assists and 2.22 digs per set and she currently ranks second in the GLVC in assists per set.
UMSL improved to 8-2 overall this season with the victories. The Tritons are 2-0 in the GLVC and will continue league play at Drury on Tuesday.
