Northern Kentucky University’s Kristina Eisenmenger is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior right-side hitter led the Norse to a 2-0 record on the week, including a win over No. 23 Indianapolis, their first over the Greyhounds since the 2005 season.
On the week, Eisenmenger averaged 4.5 kills per set and hit .490. She posted 27 kills in six sets, including an 18-kill effort against UIndy. Eisenmenger finished with six blocks and just two attack errors.
In NKU’s 3-0 win over visiting Saint Joseph’s on Friday, Eisenmenger posted nine kills and a block assist in just two sets. She hit .643 in the contest.
She returned against the Greyhounds on Saturday to notch 18 kills, five blocks and a .423 hitting percentage in the 3-1 victory.
On the year, Eisenmenger is averaging 3.58 kills per set and 0.47 blocks per set. She also holds a league-leading .375 hitting percentage.
With the two wins over in-division foes, NKU pulled into a tie for second-place in the GLVC East Division at 4-1. The Norse are 11-3 overall and trail division-leading Lewis by one-half game.
The Norse will travel to Wheeling Jesuit and Southern Indiana this week before returning home for a doubleheader with Glenville State and Urbana.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Kyrie Hopkins, Lewis’ Kim Richards, Missouri-St. Louis’ Joslyn Brown, Rockhurst’s Savannah Leeper and UIndy’s Lyndsay Callahan.
