The University of Indianapolis’ Beth Robbins is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior setter guided the Greyhounds to five wins last week, including an upset victory at 13th-ranked California University of Pennsylvania at the PSAC Crossover Tournament on Friday.

 

On the week, Robbins averaged 12.06 assists, 3.00 digs, 0.78 kills, 0.50 blocks and 0.28 service aces per set. She notched three double-doubles on the week and posted 40 or more assists in four of the five matches, including a 59-assist effort in UIndy’s 3-2 win over Lock Haven.

 

On Tuesday, UIndy topped Southern Indiana 3-0 to move to 5-1 in the GLVC. Robbins posted 40 assists and six digs in the three-set match.

 

She returned on Friday to register 43 assists, 14 digs, five kills and a career-high five blocks in the Greyhounds’ 3-1 win over California.

 

Robbins also played a key role in UIndy’s comeback win over Lock Haven on Friday. Along with her 59 assists, she also registered nine digs, two kills, one service ace and a block to help her team rally from a 2-0 deficit.

 

UIndy swept Shippensburg and Kutztown on Saturday in straight sets. Robbins averaged 47.5 assists and 12.5 digs in the two victories.

 

Robbins is averaging 11.17 assists per game on the season, which ranks her second in the league. She is also adding 2.35 digs per set and is second on her team with 20 service aces on the year.

 

With the wins, UIndy moved to 16-3 overall. The 24th-ranked Greyhounds will return home for matches with Quincy, Missouri-St. Louis and Missouri S&T this weekend.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Drury’s Brianne Holtkamp, Lewis’ Stephanie Sagat, Missouri S&T’s Julie Meyer, Missouri-St. Louis’ Elizabeth Cook, Northern Kentucky’s Kristina Eisenmenger, Rockhurst’s Andrea Schroeder and Southern Indiana’s Brittani Oliver.
