Quincy University’s Grant Ellison (O’Fallon, Mo./St. Dominic) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Week. The sophomore forward guided the Hawks to a pair of victories, including a league victory over Southern Indiana on Sunday.

On Wednesday, Ellison posted a pair of goals, including the game-winning tally, in Quincy’s 3-1 victory over Truman State. He notched his first goal in the 64th minute on an assist from Jake Pittroff and added an insurance goal in the 90th minute to ice the contest.

Ellison returned on Sunday to post a hat trick in the Hawks’ 4-3 victory at Southern Indiana. Trailing 1-0 in the second half, Ellison posted the game-tying goal in the 61st minute and quickly added two additional goals to record the hat trick and provide his club with a 3-1 advantage. He scored all three goals unanswered in less than 11 minutes.

For the week, Ellison helped the Hawks snap a four-match losing streak by posting five goals in two matches. On the year, Ellison leads his team and is ranked third in the league with nine goals.
