University of Indianapolis’ Cheneta Morrison is the Baden/Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The sophomore outside hitter guided the Hounds to a pair of conference road victories.
Morrison averaged 0.43 blocks per set, 5.29 kills per set and finished the weekend with a .446 hitting percentage.
She had a breakout game against Drury where she had 12 kills, an ace, and a block assist, to lead the team to 3-0 victory.
Morrison continued the momentum from the Drury match and had her shining moment against Rockhurst, where she had a career-high 25 kills. Her spotlight performance also included nine digs, two aces, and a .458 hitting percentage.
Morrison is averaging 3.16 kills per game this season, which places her sixth overall in the GLVC.
Indianapolis (20-4, 9-2 GLVC) is ranked 24th in NCAA Division II and third in the GLVC East Division.
The Greyhounds will face Grand Valley State, Northern Michigan and Northwood at the Asics GLVC/GLIAC Crossover Volleyball Tournament this weekend.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included: Lewis’ Stephanie Sagat, Northern Kentucky’s Kim Nemcek, Southern Indiana’s Kathi Hindman, Quincy’s Kristin Harris, and Rockhurst’s Katy Hernandez.
