University of Indianapolis senior quarterback Jake Purichia and McKendree University senior linebacker Austin Weltha and sophomore punter Monte Wolke have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

  • Finished 19-of-28 passing for 260 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions
  • Added a one-yard rushing touchdown for team’s first score of the game
  • Owns a 17:2 touchdown-to-interception ratio while leading Division II in passing efficiency (191.5)
  • Has led sixth-ranked UIndy to an 8-0 start and 12 straight wins, matching 64- and 63-year-old program records, respectively
  • Earns his third career Offensive Player of the Week award (9/18/17, 9/25/17)
