Truman State University senior forward Zach Fischer has been named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week of the 2017-18 men’s basketball season, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.

- Averaged 20 points on 14-of-18 shooting (.778), 10 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 2.0 assists in two season-opening wins
- Earned his second career double-double with 24 points and 11 rebounds, while adding four steals, two assists and one block in 33 minutes of action in win over Trevecca Nazarene
- Posted new career highs for points, rebounds, steals, field goals made (10) and field goals attempted (12) in 33 minutes of action
- Followed up with near double-double with 16 points, nine boards, two assists and a steal in 26 minutes on the court against Cedarville
- Earns his first career Player of the Week award
