Quincy University’s Jessica Keller (Belle, Mo./Belle) is the  Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard helped the Lady Hawks open their 2008-09 campaign with a pair of victories.

 

In the two contests, Keller averaged 22.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 4.0 assists. She shot 54.8 percent from the field, 60.0 percent from behind the three-point line and was 8-for-10 at the free throw line.

 

Keller posted 23 points, five assists, four steals and four rebounds in Quincy’s 102-64 win over Saginaw Valley State in the opening round of the Quincy/Subway Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. She was 7-for-13 from the field and knocked down 7-of-8 free throw attempts.

 

In Sunday’s 89-53 win over Lincoln Memorial, Keller poured in 22 points and added eight rebounds, six steals and three assists. She finished 10-for-18 (.556) from the floor and 1-for-2 from behind the three-point line.

 

Keller was named to the Quincy/Subway Tip-Off All-Tournament Team and set a tournament record with the 45 points she tallied in the two games.

 

Quincy is now 2-0 overall and will travel to Truman State on Wednesday before hosting Southwest Baptist on Saturday.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Kentucky Wesleyan’s Candace Garrett, Missouri S&T’s Lauren Dubbert, Missouri-St. Louis’ Kelly Mitchell, Rochurst’s Julie Cook, Southern Indiana’s Lauren Meneghetti and UIndy’s Jessica Canary.
