Lewis University’s Brandon Dagans (Harvey, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard led the Flyers to a pair of wins over Lake Superior State and Michigan Tech in their opening weekend.

Dagans averaged 24 points and 7.5 rebounds in his first two regular season games.  The Flyers were able to count on him in the clutch to make a free throw that sent them into an overtime victory against Lake Superior State, 77-73. He scored a team-best 18 points along with eight rebounds.

He carried that momentum into their second game of the weekend against Michigan Tech, where he posted an impressive 30 points and grabbed seven boards. The Flyers toppled the Huskies, 83-66.

Dagans earned preseason recognition as he was named to the Division II Bulletin All-American Team.

The Flyers will head to Hillsdale on Wednesday and have their first home opener against Northwood on Saturday November 22 at 3:00 PM.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Saint Joseph’s Brandon Mayse, Southern Indiana’s Anthony Pimble, Northern Kentucky’s Dustin Maguire, Quincy’s Josh Edmonds, and UIndy’s Jordan Barnard.
