University of Southern Indiana’s Brittany Neuman (Huntingburg, Ind.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior post-player delivered a double-double in the Eagles’ 88-80 win over visiting Edinboro on Saturday.

In the win over the visiting Fighting Scots, Neuman tallied a game-high 24 points on 9-of-11 shooting and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.

She shot 81.8 percent from the field and converted all six of her free throw attempts in the victory. In addition, Neuman also added two blocked shots and an assist.

With the Eagles clinging to a five-point lead in the second-half, Neuman scored five straight points to spark a decisive 14-0 run. She also posted 15 points in the first half to help the Eagles overcome an early seven-point deficit and take a 48-38 lead at halftime.

In three games this season, Neuman is averaging a career-high 14.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. She is shooting 50 percent from the field and 87.5 percent from the free throw line.

The Eagles (2-1) have won two straight games and will host Mid-Continent tonight before squaring off with Hillsdale and Grace this weekend.
