Quincy University’s Jessica Keller (Belle, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard led the Lady Hawks to victories over UW-Parkside and Saint Joseph’s last week, averaging 26.5 points in the two wins.

 

Keller paced the Lady Hawks’ in their 71-54 win over UW-Parkside on Thursday, snapping the Rangers’ 10-game winning streak. She posted 30 points in the win on 9-of-13 (.692) shooting and had nine rebounds, four steals and three assists. It was the fourth 30-point game in her career and her first this season. Keller also went to the free throw line 16 times in the contest, converting 11 attempts.

 

She returned on Saturday to post 23 points, six rebounds, five steals and three assists in Quincy’s 95-60 win at Saint Joseph’s. Keller was 6-of-10 (.600) from the field and 10-of-15 (.667) from the free throw line.

 

For the week, Keller averaged 26.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.0 assists per game. She shot 65.2 percent from the field, 66.7 percent from the three-point line and 67.7 percent from the free throw line.

 

Keller is averaging a league-best 18.8 points per game this season. In addition, she leads the league in steals per game (4.24), is fourth in assists per game (4.35) and is seventh in rebounds per game (6.9).

 

Quincy (14-3, 6-1 GLVC) has won four straight games and six of its last seven contests. The Lady Hawks sit atop the GLVC West Division standings and will travel to 19th-ranked Indianapolis and top-ranked Northern Kentucky this weekend.

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Taylor Kopple, Drury’s Melanie Oliver, Northern Kentucky’s Jessie Slack and Southern Indiana’s Ellen Young.
