Quincy University junior second baseman Cody Birdsong and Missouri S&T senior Dan Borek have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in baseball, it was announced by the Conference office on Monday.

• Hit .636 (14-for-22) in five games with three doubles, four home runs, nine runs scored, and 11 RBI
• Reached base safely in all five games, including multiple hits in four contests
• Registered 29 total bases and a 1.318 slugging percentage
• Went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBI in win over Lindenwood-Belleville
• Opened Truman series with a combined 6-for-9 effort with two doubles, two home runs, three runs scored and six RBI on Friday
• Concluded series 4-for-8 with two home runs, three runs scored and four RBI
• Earns first career Player of the Week award
