Quincy University’s Jessica Keller (Belle, Mo.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Keller, a senior guard for the Lady Hawks, guided her team to a pair of wins over nationally-ranked GLVC foes last week.
Quincy went on the road and upset 22nd-ranked Indianapolis, 73-47, on Thursday and handed host and top-ranked Northern Kentucky their first defeat of the season on Saturday, 66-57.
In the two wins, Keller averaged 22.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 3.0 assists per game. She shot 42.4 percent from the field and was 15-of-17 (.882) from the free throw line.
In Quincy’s win over UIndy, Keller posted 19 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals. She shot 40 percent from the field and hit 7-of-8 (.875) free throw attempts.
She returned against NKU to score a game-high 26 points, including 14 points in the first half to give the Lady Hawks a 25-18 advantage at the break. She finished with seven rebounds, three steals and two assists. Keller hit both of her three-point attempts and was 8-of-9 (.889) at the free throw line.
On the year, Keller leads the GLVC in scoring (19.2 ppg) and steals (4.11 spg). She is also tallying 6.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game to rank 11th and fourth in the league, respectively.
Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Kylie Brady, Drury’s Lindsay Ballweg, Kentucky Wesleyan’s Danielle Roe, Lewis’ Jenny Turpel, Rockhurst’s Amy Hake, Saint Joseph’s Britney Cruse and Southern Indiana’s Brittany Neuman.
