University of Southern Indiana’s Anthony Pimble is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior forward led the Screaming Eagles to two conference victories, including a win over Rockhurst in overtime.

 

Pimble started the Eagles off with a 13 point and six rebound performance against Missouri-St. Louis, 93-86. He shot 83.3 percent from the field, including a three-pointer, and was two-of-two from the line.  

 

Pimble finished up the week, leading his team to a double-overtime win over Rockhurst, 98-92. He posted a career-high 25 points, which included eight points in the overtime periods. Pimble sealed their victory with a pair of free throws with seven seconds remaining on the clock.  

 

For the week, Pimble averaged 19 points and seven rebounds per game. He shot 73.7 percent from the field and shot near perfect at the line, hitting nine-of-ten.  

 

The Screaming Eagles (17-4, 7-2) lead the west division in the conference and will travel to Drury and Missouri S&T this week after a non-conference game tonight against Lake Erie.  

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Lewis University’s Marty Strus, Rockhurst’s Aaron Hill, Northern Kentucky’s Leslie Malone, Saint Joseph’s Brandon Mayse, Bellarmine’s Braydon Hobbs, and Kentucky Wesleyan’s Trey Harris.
