McKendree University senior quarterback Reece Metcalf and Missouri S&T junior defensive end Tershawn Wharton and junior punter Jonathan Banowetz have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

  • Averaged 40.4 yards on seven punts, including two punts downed inside the 20-yard line
  • On four punts in the second quarter, he averaged 44 yards per kick to keep Northwood pinned back in its own territory
  • Saw a 53-yard punt in the third quarter fumbled by Northwood on the return
  • Earns his first career Special Teams Player of the Week award
