McKendree University senior quarterback Reece Metcalf and Missouri S&T junior defensive end Tershawn Wharton and junior punter Jonathan Banowetz have been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Players of the Week in football, it was announced by the league office Monday.

Team Result: 34-17 win at Kentucky State

• Completed 18-of-22 passes for 260 total yards and posted a career-high four touchdown passes, all of which came in the first half
• Converted his first 11 passes seasons to start the game
• One of his TD passes was a career-long 75-yard strike to Steven Towns, Jr., just before halftime to give the Bearcats a 27-10 lead
• Improved season totals to 35-of-47 passing (74.5 percent) for 518 yards with seven touchdowns
• Earns his second career Offensive Player of the Week award (10/31/16)
