Lynne RossIndianapolis, Ind. – The University of Indianapolis’ Lynne Ross (Connersville, Ind./Connersville) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week. The senior middle blocker helped guide the Greyhounds to three conference wins last week.
 
Ross had nine kills, three digs and a block in Indianapolis’ 3-0 (30-22, 30-28, 31-29) win over Saint Joseph’s College on Sept. 19. She finished the contest with a hitting percentage of .467.
 
In UIndy’s 3-0 (30-25, 31-29, 30-24) win at Northern Kentucky University on Sept. 22, Ross posted nine kills, a hitting percentage of .316 and tied a career-high with 10 total blocks. She finished with two solo blocks and eight block assists.
 
She completed her week by assisting in the Greyhounds’ 3-1 (30-22, 27-30, 30-26, 30-27) win at Bellarmine University. Ross tallied 14 kills, three service aces, three digs and eight blocks in the four-game match. She also posted her highest hitting percentage (.500) of the week.
 
In the three matches, Ross averaged 3.20 kills, 1.90 blocks, 0.60 digs and 0.50 service aces per game and a hitting percentage of .433. She finished the week with an average of 5.15 points per game.
 
For the season, Ross is leading the Greyhounds with 4.03 points per game. She is first in the GLVC in hitting percentage (.371) and fourth in blocks per game (1.20). In conference-only matches, Ross leads the league with 1.48 blocks per game.
 
UIndy improved to 14-4 overall with last week’s victories and is currently in second place in the GLVC at 6-1.
