University of Southern Indiana junior Austin Nolan and University of Indianapolis sophomore Lauren Bailey have been named Great Lakes Valley Conference Runners of the Week in men’s and women’s cross country, respectively, it was announced by the Conference office on Tuesday.  In addition, Nolan was recognized late Monday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as the NCAA Division II National Runner of the Week.

Team Result:  10^th/27 teams, 258 points, Lewis University Conference Crossover

• USTFCCCA NCAA Division II National Runner of the Week – third Screaming Eagle to ever win the award (Johnnie Guy and Emily Roberts, both in 2015)
• Won the biggest Division II meet in the country outside of the NCAA Championships
• Pulled away late to best a field of 282 runners that included at least a dozen DII All-Americans in an 8,000-meter time of 24 minutes, 33 seconds
• Reigning GLVC Champion and Runner of the Year
• Earns his second career GLVC Runner of the Week award (9/18/18)
• Last Southern Indiana Runner of the Week: Austin Nolan (9/18/18)
