Lewis University’s Brandon Dagans (Harvey, IL) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The senior guard had an impressive game against #8 Bellarmine.

 

Despite the 60-62 loss against #11 Northern Kentucky, Dagans was still able to put up 18 points on the board. He grabbed four boards, had a blocked shot, and a steal against the Norse.

 

His most impressive performance was seen in the 75-72 upset over the #8 Bellarmine Knights. Dagans scored a game-high 28 points, including nine of the 11 points for the Flyers down the home stretch to ensure their victory.  He knocked down 10-of-11 free throws, shooting .909 from the charity stripe.  

 

For the week, Dagans averaged 23 points per game. He also grabbed 4.5 rebounds per game. He ranks third in the conference for scoring overall, averaging 17.5 points per game.

 

The Flyers (12-8, 6-5) will travel to Owensboro, Kentucky Thursday to face the Panthers of KWC.  

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Northern Kentucky’s Leslie Malone, Rockhurst’s Alden Smith, Missouri-St. Louis’ Beaumont Beasley, Saint Joseph’s Austin Peebles, Southern Indiana’s Tyrone Bradshaw, Kentucky Wesleyan’s T.J. Smith, and Indy’s Tristan Rogers.
