Rockhurst University’s Aaron Hill (Canton, Mo./Canton) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. The junior guard averaged over 30 points per game in leading the Hawks to victories over Drury and Missouri S&T last week.

 

In Rockhurst’s 93-82 win over Drury on Thursday, Hill poured in a career-high 36 points and set a GLVC single-game record by finishing the night 16-for-16 from the free throw line. He was 7-for-17 (.412) from the field and hit 6-of-11 (.444) three-point attempts in the victory. In addition, Hill added three assists and a steal.

 

Rockhurst topped S&T on Saturday, 84-72, and Hill posted a game-high 27 points. He was 9-for-17 (.529) from the field and 5-for-10 (.500) from behind the three-point line. Hill also had four assists and two steals in the win.

 

For the week, Hill averaged 31.5 points, 3.5 assists and 1.5 rebounds per game. He was a perfect 20-for-20 from the free throw line in the two wins and finished 11-for-21 (.524) from behind the three-point line.

 

On the year, Hill is averaging 20.8 points per game to rank second in the GLVC in scoring. He is leading the league with 3.73 three-point field goals made per game and is third in free-throw percentage (88.3 percent).

 

Rockhurst is alone in second-place in the GLVC West Division with a 10-3 league mark. The Hawks are 14-8 overall and will host Park and visit Missouri-St. Louis this week.  

 

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Bellarmine’s Chartrael Hall, Kentucky Wesleyan’s T.J. Smith, Lewis’ Brandon Dagans, Southern Indiana’s Jamar Smith and UIndy’s Tristan Rogers.
