University of Southern Indiana senior guard Alex Stein has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men’s basketball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

- Led the Screaming Eagles in their only game of the week with 48 points on 15-of-19 shooting (.789)
- Hit 6-of-8 from three-point land and all 12 of his free-throw attempts
- Added six rebounds, four assists and two steals
- Scoring output tied Truman’s Mike Carlson (vs. S&T, 1/30/14) for sixth all-time on GLVC single-game charts
- Became one of three USI players to score 45 or more points in a game, joining former All-GLVC players Chris Bowles (45 vs. Northern Kentucky 1990-91) and Jeril Taylor (50 vs. Truman State 2016-17)
- Earns his third career Player of the Week award (11/14/16, 1/2/18)
