Lewis University sophomore distance runner John Partee and Maryville University junior heptathlete Drew Kowalski have been named the first Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for the 2018-19 season, it was announced by the Conference office Tuesday. 


MEN’S INDOOR FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Drew Kowalski, Maryville

Major: Middle School Education
Team Competition:  NTS, Wichita State Shocker Multi Meet

• Set school record in heptathlon by 400 points with 4,482 points
• Recorded five personal bests in his seven events
• Closed out first day with 60-meter time of 7.58, ranked second all-time at Maryville with a high jump PR (6’ 1 ½”), set shot put PR (33’ 6 ½”) and set school record in long jump (21’ 1 ½”)
• Came back on second day to PR in 60-meter hurdles (9.43) and just missed his own school record in pole vault with an effort of 14’ 9 ½”
• Program’s first career GLVC Indoor Field Athlete of the Week honor
