University of Indianapolis’ Amy Schmitz is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Schmitz set a new university record in the weight throw this past weekend at the Tiger Indoor Invite at DePauw University. Her toss of 18.68 meters is an improvement upon her NCAA Qualifying mark and she ranks fourth on the performance list. She also leads the GLVC.

Other top performers in the GLVC last week included Lewis’ Christine Kustra and Saint Joseph’s Melissa Buche.
