University of Southern Indiana’s Tyler Choate (Carmi, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Choate, a junior right-hander for the Eagles, tossed a complete game in Southern Indiana’s 10-2 win over Northwest Missouri State on Saturday.
In his nine innings of work, Choate surrendered just five hits and two earned runs. He struck out nine in the outing and did not walk a batter.
Choate also helped himself at the plate in the win, going 2-for-6 with a run scored and one RBI.
On the year, Choate is 1-1 with a 3.52 ERA. He has allowed six earned runs in 15 and one-third innings of work. Choate has also struck out 15 batters and walked just one in two appearances.
Southern Indiana is 2-4 overall this season and will host Kentucky Wesleyan in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. The Eagles will also play Spalding and Wayne State this week.
