Saint Joseph’s College’s Nate Weglarz (Homewood, Ill.) is the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week.

  

Weglarz, a junior centerfielder for the Pumas, guided his club to a 2-2 record over the weekend including a pair of victories over third-ranked Ouachita Baptist.

 

He finished the four games 7-for-18 (.388) at the plate with six runs, six RBIs, two home runs, two doubles and a .722 slugging percentage.

 

He was 3-for-6 with four RBIs and three runs in Saint Joseph’s 9-7 win over Ouachita Baptist on Saturday. Weglarz belted his second of two home runs on the day in the top of 11th inning, a two-run, game-winning blast.

 

In Sunday’s 16-3 win over Ouachita Baptist, Weglarz was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. In the two games against 17th-ranked West Alabama, both losses for the Pumas, Weglarz was 2-for-8 with two runs scored.

 

On the year, Weglarz is batting .333 with nine RBIs, eight runs, four doubles and two home runs.

 

Saint Joseph’s is 5-2 overall and is currently ranked 16th in the country. The Pumas will next face Lock Haven on Sunday.

 

Other top performers in GLVC last week included Drury’s R.J. Knese, Missouri S&T’s Eaf Redden and Southern Indiana’s Caleb Ehmke.
