Bellarmine University sophomore outfielder Matt Higgins and William Jewell College junior pitcher Thomas Hennelly have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

• Registered a nine-inning complete-game shutout, marking the first time the sixth-ranked Hawks had been kept off the scoreboard this year
• Allowed just two hits, which was also a season-low for Quincy
• Struck out seven batters and allowed three walks
• Limited Quincy to a .071 batting average
• Previous career-best effort spanned just four innings
• Earns his first career Player of the Week award
