Bellarmine University sophomore outfielder Matt Higgins and William Jewell College junior pitcher Thomas Hennelly have been respectively named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week in the sport of baseball, it was announced by the league office Monday.

• Registered a total of 30 bases over six games, batting .654 (17-for-26) and slugging at a 1.154 clip.
• Posted multi-hit efforts in all six contests, including a trio of three-hit performances, as well as a four-hit effort in the Maryville finale
• Finished with two home runs, one triple, five doubles, 10 runs batted in, and 14 runs scored
• Notched one extra-base hit in all but one game
• Improved season batting average from .345 to .416 over the week
• Has driven in at least one run in seven straight games
• Earns his first career Player of the Week award
